Reopen for Business: Rules for Going to Hairdressers and Beauty Salons after Lockdown

As lockdown measures have been alleviated, you must be excited to visit your nearest salon to get your hair and nails done. It’s important to stay vigilant and follow the health and safety protocols set by the government. Keep in mind that beauty salons and hair dressers are obligated to follow the pandemic guidelines to protect their staff and their customers. So before you go to these establishments, take note of the below mentioned rules:

1. Visit by appointment only.

Remember to make an appointment with your favourite salon or hairdresser ahead of time. The same rule applies if you are dropping by to purchase aftercare products, hair extensions, or hair pieces.

2. Show up on time.

Avoid being late, even for five to 10 minutes. Timings will be very strict to get you in as safely as possible. In case you are late, the salon reserves the right not to accommodate you.

That said, it’s best to avoid being too early as waiting inside the salon is not allowed. You will have to stay outside (or in your parked car) until your designated appointment time.

3. Show up by yourself.

Do not bring anyone else with you on your appointment. Salons are trying to minimise the number of people coming in to practise social distancing, so they cannot have your partners, friends, family, or kids waiting during your appointment.

4. Wear a mask.

All staff and clients are required to wear a face mask. Not all salons may provide you with a face mask if you do not have one, so it is better if you have your own.

5. Allow the staff to check your temperature.

Clients and staff will have their temperature checked before entering the salon. If your body temperature is higher than average (37.5oC or beyond), you cannot come in and you will be asked to reschedule. Do not go to your appointment if you have any COVID-19 symptoms or you simply feel unwell. Reschedule around two weeks later.

6. Wash your hands.

Some salons will have an area for sanitation where you can wash your hands and use a hand sanitiser.

7. Don’t bring a lot of things.

This is to avoid cross-contamination, so bring only a small purse with your essential belongings, and keep it next to you at all times.

8. Take note of the cancellation policy.

Should you need to cancel your appointment, do so ahead of time, preferably 48 hours ahead of your schedule.

9. Be patient.

Salons and hairdressers will be very busy during reopening, so they are asking for your cooperation. They will be doing their best to ensure that you can get your hair and nails done safely and in a timely way.

Top 3 Valentine DIY Hairstyles Using Professional Hair Extensions

Are you ready for Valentine’s Day? No matter how you choose to celebrate it, you will surely want to look and feel beautiful on this special day. One of the ways to elevate your style is to give your mane a boost with professional hair extensions. All that added volume will allow you to style your hair in multiple ways and rock any look you want. Below are some fun and easy hairstyles you can do for Valentine’s Day using high-quality extensions:

1. Beach waves

Wearing your hair down is a timeless look that can go with any outfit and occasion. Make sure you are wearing professional hair extensions such as clip-ins or micro-loops to achieve a thicker mane.

But instead of leaving your hair straight or in tight curls, consider carrying beach waves. This flirty hairstyle can easily be achieved with a curling wand. Don’t worry, as these high-quality heat-resistant hair extensions can easily create that wavy look. Just remember to lightly spritz water or a light hair mousse before you curl to avoid frizziness.

2. Slick-back low ponytail

This prim-and-proper hairstyle goes with a wide range of looks; making it perfect for any outfit you might want to wear on Valentine’s. With professional hair extensions you can make a ponytail that is much thicker. Try a side part or a middle part, whichever you are comfortable with. Brush your hair back and secure it with a subtle hair tie, then take some strands of your hair from under the ponytail to wrap it around the hair tie. Secure it with bobby pins.

3. Messy bun

This hairstyle is super easy to do when you’re in a hurry. Once the hair extensions are set, take a handful of your front locks for light teasing and tie the rest of your hair with a sturdy hair tie. Grasp your ponytail inside out around your hair tie and tie it again. Your ponytail doesn’t have to be perfect. But remember to fluff out the hair a bit. If there are loose strands, tuck them in the bun and hair tie. Use bobby pins to keep the bun in place.

Carry Your Pre-Bonded Hair Extensions with Ease Using These Tips

Pre-bonded hair extensions are hair strands that have been bonded at one tip using an adhesive like keratin and glue. These extensions come in different types such as nail-tip, stick tip, and nano-tip hair extensions. Nail tip is also called fusion hair extensions because they are attached to the natural hair using a heat connector. For this extension, heat is needed to melt the glue and attach the strands to the natural hair at the root.

Meanwhile, for pre-bonded stick-tip and nano-tip hair extensions, the micro ring technique is used for the application. That means you will need to use micro-ring fitting pliers, a threader, and a pulling needle to attach the pre-bonded extensions to the natural hair.

While both application methods for pre-bonded hair extensions are time-consuming and tedious, they are still preferred by many because they blend well with your natural tresses. Because they are fitted strand by strand, they are undetectable. Also, pre-bonded hair extensions are semi-permanent. That means you can wear them longer without worrying about them slipping or falling out.

Pre-bonded hair extensions are versatile. You can style them in different ways. Now, to make sure that you will carry these extensions with ease, follow these application techniques and tips.

· Make sure to attach keratin bonds should 1 cm away from the scalp. This tip applies to both fusion and micro ring methods.

· To prevent extensions from knotting with each other, keep at least 1cm between the bonds.

· Don't attach the hair extensions too close to the hairlines and crowns to avoid damaging the natural hair.

· Before applying the pre-bonded extensions, shampoo your natural hair so that it's clean and free from grease, dirt, and any debris.

· Use a separator to protect the root or scalp from the heat when attaching nail tip extensions.

· Don't shampoo and condition hair within 24 hours after the application.

Get Ready to Rock a Christmas Party with Tape in Hair Extensions UK

Are you planning an intimate Christmas party with your closest friends or loved ones? Rock this season’s looks using tape-in hair extensions in the UK. These easy-to-apply hair extensions can transform your appearance in just a few minutes! No need for any professional tools!

Here are some amazing Christmas party hairdos that you can try with your tape-in hair extensions in the UK.

Messy bun

This hairstyle goes well with both casual and formal outfits. But make no mistake—the “messy” aesthetic isn't as easy to achieve as it sounds. You may think simply tying your hair up loosely and allowing some strands to fall in your face will do the trick, but that’s not enough. According to the pros, the secret to maintaining that messy-hair-don't-care look is applying a texturizing spray to the roots. This will add volume and keep your locks from going flat.

High ponytail

If you are looking for a neat and classy hairstyle, then one of your best options this season is a high ponytail. Doing a high Arianna Grande-like ponytail with tape-in hair extensions in the UK can be a bit tricky at first, but you will be able to keep the tapes undetected with this trick: Use a bristle tail comb instead of a regular comb when clicking back the hair.

Fishtail braid

Are you tired of your beach wavy hairstyle? Give it some polish by trying a fishtail braid. And if you want a statement and make it look more unique, try using ombre tape-in hair extensions in the UK. They will add impressive dimensions to your braided strands.

Are you planning on attending lots of Christmas parties this year? If you are worried about damaging your hair and extensions, then try not to wash them too often. Use dry shampoo to keep your hair looking fresh.

3 Rules to Know Before Applying Clip-in Ponytail Hair Extensions

Using clip-in ponytail hair extensions is probably the easiest way to achieve that long voluminous hairstyle you have always wanted. You don't need a professional to do this for you because you can attach these extensions yourself. Don't worry. It's easy, and you can do it even if it's your first time. Before you start, read these three rules:

1. Make sure to get hair extensions that match your hair.

From its colour down to its texture, your clip-in ponytail hair extension should match your natural hair. This way, it will blend well and won't be too obvious. The last thing you want is for people to be able to tell that you have extensions on. Purchase the right colour—something that matches your natural hair colour if possible, or comes closest to it. Avoid synthetic hair extensions because they look fake and tangle easily. What you want is something that is made from human hair—like Remy hair—because they are smoother and more beautiful.

2. Decide on a style.

The right type of clip-in ponytail hair extension might also depend on the hairstyle that you want. If you are attending a formal event or a board meeting, a sleek, long ponytail will make you appear more professional. However, this style may not be the best if you are going to a casual dinner gathering or date night. If you are looking for something less formal, try doing a loose messy bun or a wavy ponytail.

3. Prepare your hair.

Before putting the clip-in ponytail, you want to make sure that your hair is thoroughly brushed or combed. Whether they lie flat or look a bit messy is up to you. If you want them flat, consider using gel or hairspray. After that, gather your hair together with an elastic band. It is an important step because this will hold your hair up securely. For extra lift, add another elastic band.

Sulphate-free Shampoo – An Ideal Shampoo for All

A lot of people are switching to a sulphate-free shampoo, believing that it is better for their hair. What makes them better than regular shampoo? Find out all the answers below.

Understanding sulphates

Sulphates are essentially the reason why shampoos and soaps have that thick foam and the luxurious lathering effect that makes shower and bath times extra special. Sulphates are good because they can remove grime and dead skin cells from the skin and scalp. However, they can also remove the natural oil from your scalp and eventually cause dry and brittle hair. That's why some experts advise against using shampoos with sulphate. The damage can be more serious for those with a sensitive scalp because in these cases, sulphate can irritate redness, dryness, and itching.

 Benefits of sulphate-free shampoo?

• Good for dyed and kinky hair - Regular shampoos are harsh cleansers, which make them bad for colour-treated hair. Sulphate-free shampoos are highly recommended for people with dyed hair because they can help maintain the colours of their hair. Sulphate-free cleansers are also great for those with kinky hair because they can keep the moisture by maintaining the natural oils on the scalp and hair.

• The best option for people with skin conditions - If you have sensitive skin or eczema, then you are probably used to getting scalp irritation. Ditching sulphate products and switching to sulphate-free ones can help you avoid many types of irritation such as flaking scalp and red patches.

• No more stinging eyes - Do you often get shampoo in your eyes while in the shower? Stinging eyes won't be a problem if you are using a sulphate-free shampoo.

Perfect for hair extensions

Sulphate-free shampoo is also the best choice for hair extensions that are made of human hair. It is gentle on the delicate strands. Be sure to follow it with a nourishing conditioner for restoring the shine and moisture of your hair extensions.

Make the Hairstyles This Summer Ombre Hair Extensions

Summer is a great time to experiment and try hair colour trends. One of them is ombre, a technique that is surprisingly low-maintenance as it eliminates your worry about dark roots, apart from being versatile for any natural hair colour. However, if you are afraid of colouring your hair because of inevitable damage and the commitment it requires, consider investing in ombre hair extensions instead. Hair extensions are great because they allow you to try the trend without a bigger commitment. They can also help you save time when you don’t enjoy sitting too long to get your hair dyed.

Ombre hair extensions will allow you to achieve the gradient hair colour technique where the roots are darker and the colour transitions to lighter shades at the ends. They are available as Remy hair extensions, which are made of 100 per cent human hair. So, they look more natural when they blend into your real hair. You can get these products as nail-tip, stick-tip, nano-tip, micro-loop, or as clip-ins. They come in different lengths, usually at 14, 18, 20, or 22 inches, so you should be able to find the exact extensions that will suit your needs.

With ombre hair extensions, you can try many different colour combinations over the summer and change your look as much as you want. If you prefer to change colours more frequently, consider clip-in Remy human hair extensions, so you can remove them when you’re done, or you want to try another colour. Human hair extensions are heat-resistant and can be styled in many different ways to match your natural hair. You can use your usual heat styling tools, such as your hairdryer, curling iron, or hair straightening iron to achieve the look and texture you desire with your ombre hair.

For best results, have a professional set your ombre hair extensions. Moreover, take good care of your extensions by not soaking them too long in fresh or saltwater, and use specially formulated hair extension treatments and conditioners to keep them in good condition.
